Miami Root Canal Doctor Manuel Garcia

Dr. Victor Manuel Garcia

With his more than 35 years of experience as an endodontic specialist, Dr. Victor Manuel Garcia has demonstrated continuous commitment to professionalism and ethics. He graduated with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology from the University of Miami in 1978. He then went on to finish in the top 10% of his dental school class at the University of Puerto Rico. He earned his specialty certificate in endodontics from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1985 and has been a licensed specialist in the state of Florida since that time.

Dr. Garcia works to make sure anyone who walks through the door feels comfortable while in the office. His informative consultations and friendly demeanor make patients feel more relaxed and prepared for endodontic procedures. He treats his patients with unhurried care and a gentle manner. Between his training, experience, and his investment in technology, patients can feel confident that all endodontic treatment options are available to them.

In addition to his work in private practice, Dr. Garcia has spent many years teaching and lecturing to both students and other dentists. He has provided various continuing education courses through the United States and other countries, and has previously served as the director of the Endodontic Clinic at the University of Florida Hialeah Dental Clinic.

Dr. Alexander D. Paul

Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Paul earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 where he graduated with honors in clinical dentistry and was elected to both the Matthew H. Cryer (Eta Sigma Sigma) honor society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor fraternity—top honors are awarded to only a select few in each graduating class.

As a recipient of the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship, Dr. Paul went on to serve for five years as a commissioned dental officer in the United States Navy. During his service, Dr. Paul completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at USMC Camp Pendleton in California. He was later selected from among his peers to deploy with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the sole dentist for over 2,400 forward-deployed Marines.

After leaving the Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander, Dr. Paul followed his wife, Carmen, back to her childhood home of Miami—where beautiful palm trees and delicious cafecitos awaited him. Once settled in South Florida, Dr. Paul attended the post-doctoral endodontic specialty residency at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. On graduation from this program as an endodontic specialist, Dr. Paul was awarded the Robert Uchin award for excellence in oral presentation and public speaking. He enjoys sharing his knowledge on endodontic topics and has delivered formal educational presentations to both general dentists and endodontic specialists.

Dr. Paul remains active in the dental community and is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association. Outside the office, Dr. Paul spends his free time enjoying his family. He and his wife, Carmen, have two young sons who keep them both endlessly entertained.

Miami Root Canal Dentists

Patient-Centered Care

Our primary objective is to make you feel comfortable and at ease during your entire experience with us. We do not rush through our evaluations. We want to make sure that you understand what is causing your discomfort, whether treatment is necessary, and what your treatment options are. We take the time to understand all of your concerns so that we can develop a treatment plan that fits best with your needs and goals.

As endodontists, we are experts at anesthetizing (numbing) teeth—particularly those causing extreme pain. At our office, the vast majority of patients experience no discomfort during their Root Canal Therapy. You can rest assured that, if treatment is necessary, we will do everything possible to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

In some cases, root canal therapy is not the best treatment option for your tooth. We pride ourselves on honesty and would never recommend a treatment that we would not recommend for a family member in the same position.  You can trust us to recommend an alternative treatment or no treatment if we do not believe root canal therapy will help you save your tooth.

Patients who complete their treatment at our office will receive a complimentary re-evaluation of their tooth 6-12 months following treatment. This helps us to ensure that your tooth has healed properly and continues to function well.

Frequently Asked Questions About Patient-Centered Care

Will my treatment hurt?

Endodontists are specialists in anesthetizing (numbing) teeth—especially those causing a patient extreme pain. We do not move forward with treatment until we are sure you have been completely anesthetized. At our office, the vast majority of patients experience no discomfort during their Root Canal Therapy.

You’re a root canal specialist. Do you ever not recommend root canal treatment?

Yes. An important part of your evaluation is determining whether root canal therapy is actually needed for your tooth. Many patients who are evaluated at our office are told that root canal therapy is either not necessary or would not be of benefit for their tooth. We pride ourselves on honesty and would never recommend a treatment that we would not recommend for a family member in the same position.

What if my tooth can’t be saved?

Not all teeth can be saved with root canal therapy. If a tooth is evaluated to have a hopeless outlook, it may be recommended for extraction (removal). Please note that we do not perform this service in our office. Your general dentist will peform this procedure or will choose to refer you to an oral surgeon or periodontist to have the tooth removed.

Why do I need to come back in for a recall appointment 6-12 months after my treatment is completed?

A recall appointment is an important part of your treatment. This short check-up appointment allows us to re-evaluate your tooth to ensure that it has healed properly and continues to function well. There is no additional charge for this service. We appreciate having the opportunity to follow-up on our work.
