To improve the quality of care we provide to our patients, our office has invested in a Carestream 8100 CBCT Scanner. This instrument—in addition to being able to produce excellent 2D panoramic images—can also capture excellent 3D images of a patient’s teeth and surrounding anatomy. We do not take a scan on every patient who we see for evaluation. When it is needed, however, the CBCT scan provides an incredible amount of information to aid in both diagnosis and treatment planning.

Our office is available to capture panoramic radiographs or 3D CBCT scans for any dentist who requires one for their patient’s treatment. The field of view for the Carestream 8100 model can be set anywhere from 4mm X 4mm (a limited field of view showing 3-4 teeth in one arch) to 8mm X 9mm (a large field of view capturing both dental arches.) We will save the scan on a DVD along with a full copy of the software necessary to view the image. If ordering a CBCT, please indicate the field of view you are requesting and for what purpose you are taking the scan (implant treatment planning, wisdom teeth evaluation, impacted canines). We will make sure that your entire area of interest is captured in the scan.
